There are many ways to donate cash, such as using apps or text messages. For this contest, I chose to display donations via phone to represent the ease of donation while using a smartphone. With roughly 3.6 billion smartphone users in the world, donations can be done with any currency and from anywhere. The benefit of giving a cash donation is that it can be used by relief organizations to buy what is needed when it is needed, rather than having unsolicited items clog up supply chains and disrupt disaster operations.
